Village Hall Update

The Sports Field has come to the fore once again. The Hall Committee received a ‘letter before action’ from Mr Zair’s solicitor towards the end of January demanding that the boundary fence be put up. The Hall Committee have responded by offering, again, to purchase or lease the Zair’s part of the field. If this is rejected, the Committee will have no alternative but to erect the boundary fence. If the Zairs do express an interest in selling their part of the field, the Committee will have to raise funds, as a matter of urgency, in order to purchase. Meanwhile, the Village Green application by the Sports Field Group continues.
The popularity of the Hall for a broad variety of events and meetings continues to grow. Our own in-house events over the past month have been very well supported and it is wonderful to see so many new faces attending. Thank you to all who have helped make these events so successful. Upcoming, we have Quiz Night on 9th March, Flicks (Goodbye Christopher Robin) on 13th March, Archive Film Night on 16th March and don’t miss the Hope House Evening on 24th March. And, of course, the regular bar openings, Wednesday morning coffees and fortnightly Thursday afternoon teas.
Spring is on its way!
