News from St. Andrew’s, Ashford Bowdler – Feb 19

Annual Meetings
The Annual Meeting of Parishioners and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting will be held in St. Andrew’s Church on Monday, 25th March, starting at 7.30pm. The first meeting is open to all residents of Ashford Bowdler, while the second is only for those on the church electoral roll. This is your chance to hear what the church and the Parochial Church Council (PCC) have been doing over the past year and to make any comments and suggestions for what we may do in future. The meetings will be followed by a first meeting of the new PCC.
Formal notice of the meetings will be sent in advance to all those on the electoral roll, together with the agenda and the financial statements for 2018 and other reports. As mentioned in the February magazine, a new Church Electoral Roll has to be prepared this year, so if you have not yet renewed your existing entry on the roll, or if you are not yet on the roll and would like to be added, please contact Ann Lansdell (831268) for the necessary form as soon as possible. The qualification for entry on the roll is that you should be baptised in the Church of England (or a church in communion with the Church of England) and either be resident within the parish of Ashford Bowdler or have worshipped at St. Andrew’s church within the past six months.
BCP services
We would like to remind magazine readers that we use the Book of Common Prayer for all our regular services at St. Andrew’s, rather than any of the more modern orders of service. We know this does not appeal to everyone, but we also know there are those who like the traditional forms of Holy Communion, Matins and Evensong. We extend a warm welcome to anyone who would like to join us
at any of these services, even if it is just once in a while.
