Our April meeting saw the bringing together of the many pieces of bunting knitted by members in readiness for the start of celebrations of the Queen’s 90th birthday. Red, white and blue was very much in evidence and will no doubt add a bit of colour to this summer’s activities.
Show and tell included a number of knitted and stitched items which will be on the craft sales table at the village fete on 11th June.
The workshop on embroidered felt brooches proved very popular with most members having a go. Some used the templates provided to make a flower or bird brooch whilst others took inspiration from photographs and did their own thing. The brooches were embellished with simple embroidery stitches and looked very effective. Final finishing touches will be added at our next meeting.
Next month: Also at our next meeting there will be an optional workshop on up-cycling an old T-shirt. We will look at how to cut an old T-shirt to make fabric yarn and share ideas for using it. Bring an old T-shirt (stained shirts do perfectly well)
As usual, some members will be doing their own thing and working on their own projects. Anything goes at our sessions. It’s a relaxed and informal gathering.and everyone is most welcome to join us.
