A hilarious evening was had by all who attended the Flanders and Swann evening on the 26th October.
Michael Bernstein (Flanders) accompanied by accomplished pianist Colin Stevens (Swann) gave those present a musical trip down memory lane. Songs included were some well known Flanders and Swann favourites such as ‘I’m a Gnu’, ‘The Hippopotamus Song’, ‘The Gas Man Cometh’ and ‘Have some Madeira M’ Dear’, as well as some not so well known numbers.
Many thanks to Michael and Colin who gave their time free of charge - a belated promise from the Promises Auction to raise funds for the Village Hall. The total amount raised was £510.03p and one Swiss Franc!
Thank you to all who helped to make the evening such a success and a very big thank you goes to the school for lending us the staging.
Thanks to Janie Jones for the narrative and Maureen for the photos.
