News from St Andrew, Ashford Bowdler

We had a gratifyingly large congregation - just short of 50, including several children - for our joint service of Songs of Praise on the evening of Sunday, 29th September. The service was devised by Margaret Small and consisted of hymns and bible readings focussing on the theme of St. Michael and All Angels, whose feast day it was. We are very grateful to Margaret, to Grahame Taylor at the organ, to all the readers and to our Vicar, the Revd. Kelvin Price, who led our worship, for making it such an enjoyable occasion. We were also very pleased that many of the congregation were able to stay behind for a glass of wine and a chat after the service.

As previously mentioned, our Patronal Festival evensong this year will be on Sunday, 1st December (the day after St. Andrew’s Day) at 6.30pm. After the service, there will be refreshments and a ‘bring-and-buy’ at Church House and the collection and ‘bring-and-buy’ proceeds will as usual go to the Church Missions Society. Do come if you can.

Please note that there will be no service of Matins on that day.

P.S. - A reminder to PCC members that the next PCC meeting will be at 7pm on Monday 11th November at Church House
