Caynham Ashford WI – February 2015

We had a good turn out for our February meeting in Caynham although parking and getting into the hall proved a little treacherous due to roadworks immediately outside the venue. A round of applause was given to two of our members who were presented with their Food Safety Certificates. In support of Age UK ‘Wear something Woolly’ we all looked very smart in our colourful attire and donations to this worthwhile charity will be forwarded in due course. Our president sported a very fetching hat.

The talk of the evening was Care, Tax and Toy Boys by Ian Saxton from Collective Legal Solutions. Ian enlightened us about inheritance related legal matters such as Will Writing, Trusts, Probates, and Lasting Powers of Attorney. His informative presentation was light hearted and we appreciated his jargon free approach to what can appear a complex subject. We finished the evening with a raffle which proved very successful as the majority of members won a prize.

Our March meeting will be on 11th at Caynham and Rachel Hawes will be explaining ‘Yarn Bombing’. We have been asked to bring needles and wool. I’m sure that the majority of our members will get on like a house on fire but one or two of us (me) might find it a bit challenging!
