Dec 2015

Ruth Johnson has retired as Captain of the Bowls Club and I, solely because I was the slowest to dive for cover when a replacement was sort, have been elected to succeed her.
Ruth has been a member of the Bowls Club for over 10 years, Captain for the last 5 and, ever alert to the needs of the Club and it’s members, has worked tirelessly in that role. Now, wanting to devote more time to other interests, she has decided to take a complete break from bowling.
Another long serving member Bert Feaver has also decided to retire. Bert was one of the pioneers who started the Club in the last century, (well 1995) and served as Treasurer for 4 years, relinquishing that position at the end of the 2012 season. He has very kindly donated his bowls to the Club, in the hope that others may have as much enjoyment with them as he has.
Ruth and Bert will both be much missed and we extend to them our best wishes for the future.
