Afternoon Teas Thursday December 6th

It was an early start for teas on Thursday December 6th, but the cakes and squash were all ready in time for the children from Bishop Hooper school who came to entertain the tea drinkers to an enthusiastic rendition of Christmas Carols, new and old. We particularly enjoyed “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas” and “The 12 Days of Christmas” complete with movements. Following their hard work the children were treated to an array of home-made cakes and squash before returning to school.
Many thanks to the school head mistress Anna Gittins for all her hard work playing the organ, and to all the ladies who made the cakes and helped in the kitchen, and of course to the children who’s enthusiasm made it such an enjoyable afternoon.
