News from St. Andrew’s, Ashford Bowdler

Susannah Hall has once again kindly agreed to ride for us in the Shropshire Historic Churches Trust sponsored cycle ride on Saturday 10th September, and her sponsorship form is on the table at the back of the church for anyone to sign who has not already done so. As usual, all money raised by Susannah will be divided equally between the Trust and our fabric fund.
The following weekend, on Sunday 18th September, starting at 6.30pm, there will be a service of Songs of Praise, in place of the usual evensong. This is being organised by our churchwarden, Margaret Small, and she is planning it around the theme of women, with appropriate hymns, lessons and readers. Do come if you can.
Our Harvest Festival evensong this year will be on Sunday 2nd October, starting at 6.30pm. The collection will, as usual, go to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution and the service will be followed by refreshments, to which everyone will be welcome. This year, in the absence of Jeremy and Ann Lansdell, Ron and Fiona have kindly offered to host the refreshments at Church Barn, which can be approached from the church through the back yard of Church House. (Please note: there will be no service of matins that morning).
