Ludlow Garden Club – May

We can plan garden visits but we cannot organise the weather. We were lucky for our first this week – our next on is on Wednesday15th June when we visit Grantsfield Farm, Kimbolton, Leominster. It will be an afternoon visit, meeting at 1:00 pm at the Eco Park (10p per mile to driver). A large country garden in contrasting styles surrounding a large old stone farmhouse; wide variety of unusual plants, mature specimen trees and shrubs, and if we are lucky the glorious old roses may even be in flower, there are climbers, her-baceous borders and to top it all superb views. The comma butterfly was saved here by Emma Hutchinson in the 1890`s. Now Colonel and Mrs Polley look after this wonderfully colourful garden, with the roses a particular joy.
Members £5.50, non members £6.50 including tea and cake. Any further information or a lift please contact me on 711006 Susannah.
