Knit & Stitch Nov 2016

How nice it was to get together with friends in our nice warm cheery village hall. We soon forgot about the gloom and rain outside as we got on with our cheerful chatter.
Show and tell included a rather lovely kilt pin brooch which had been completed since our last meeting and some copper foiled glasswork with coloured paper models to demonstrate the building up of the floral design.
Almost everyone opted to partake in the glass painting workshop so this was a lively session. Initial ideas were sketched onto paper and then transferred onto glass once the final design had been decided upon. Glasses, jars and bottles were painted using various techniques and all looked very im-pressive. Well done everyone..
Next month the workshop will give the opportunity for making a ribbon bookmark (a last minute present or stocking filler maybe?) In January the workshop will cover simple embroidery stitches with the opportunity to make a new needle case.
All are welcome. We are a friendly group happy to share our skills and interests with others. Bring your own project, in any craft or join in the workshop of the month.
December meeting: 2pm Monday 12th (please note this is the 2nd Monday)
January meeting: 2pm Monday 16th (as usual the 3rd Monday of the month)
Workshops for December and January: Materials will be supplied but please bring a small sewing kit if you have one.
