Christmas was definitely in the air at our November meeting. Penguins, snowmen, reindeers and gingerbread men joined bells, stars and Xmas stockings in embellishing the Xmas matts and pillows made in the session’s workshop. They will soon be brightening up hall tables offering a warm welcome to Xmas visitors.
Show and tell items included two lovely small quilts and a fabric collage wall hanging made mostly from fabric scraps. Lots of inspiration to get on with those unfinished pieces!
One member had brought an assortment of small boxes to cover in decopatch so they could be used as pretty boxes for Xmas gifts – a clever way of recycling those nicely shaped chocolate boxes. Pretty little gifts were being hand stitched, ready to pop into Xmas stockings.
Next month will no doubt see a variety of work being undertaken by members working on their own projects and finishing off those last minute items for Xmas. There will be an optional fun work-shop on napkin folding. Bring along a linen napkin if you have one.
Everyone is most welcome to join us. It’s a relaxed informal gathering where anything goes. We’re a friendly group and it would be lovely to see you.
