It was lovely to begin our monthly get togethers again. The hall was looking lovely in the Spring sunshine and was most welcoming with its new lighting.
There have been a lot of crafty goings on during the group’s closed period and our ‘show and tell’ saw exam-ples of knitting, crochet, Suffolk punch appliqué, fabric jewellery, copper glass work, tapestry work, cross stitch-ing, Easter bunny and a fabric Easter ring. A lovely assortment of work reflecting the wide range of interest and talent available to share with others within the group.
The crochet workshop was very busy with people getting to grips with some basic stitches. There will no doubt be some developments once the basic stitches have been mastered, with granny squares a possibility, so if you want to continue with crochet, bring your crochet hook and get in some practice!
Inspired by Sue’s cruise crafty make, there will be an optional workshop on fabric covered bead necklaces at our next session. Bring along a strip of fine lawn or silk approx 1meter x 8cm (1yd x 3”) but don’t worry if this is not possible as I will have all the necessary materials for you to have a play and try out the technique
Of course you can bring along anything you wish to work on. Everyone is most welcome
