In Memoriam

We are very sorry to report the sudden death on 14th July of Bronwen Coldwell at the age of 81. From her arrival in the village on Derek’s retirement over 25 years ago she has been an active and much loved member of the village community. Bronwen served as President of the Village Hall Committee for many years, organising many events such as bonfires, barbecues, garden parties and dances for the village along with fundraising for the many improvements to the Hall and its grounds over recent years. At the same time she was a governor of the Village School. She was also involved in the Farm Women’s Club and the South Shropshire Helping Hand Association which helps disabled people. Then in 1997 Bronwen along with Jean Walker and the late Frank Kelly took over responsibility for running the Ludlow and District Theatre and Arts Group.
Bronwen loved people and more importantly making people happy. She would go the extra mile to ensure that all needs were catered for. In particular she took great satisfaction through LUDTAG in making it possible for people to go to events which they would not otherwise have had the opportunity to attend. She will be greatly missed.
