The recent house to house collection in Ashford Carbonell amounted to £443. Many thanks to Sarah Cooke, Janie Jones and Lucy Treasure for their assistance with this. A further £129 was donated in Church and at the War Memorial Service on Remembrance Sunday, 9th November. I am pleased, therefore, to record that £572 has been donated from this parish to this worthy cause. Thank you all for your generous support.
In addition to this, Mrs Ann Hughes of the Old Bakery had hand knitted 50 beautiful, individual poppies which she has sold at £4.00 each and thus donated £100 each to the Poppy Appeal and to our own Church of St Mary Magdalene. Very many thanks to Ann for her much admired handicraft and dedication.
