Lent Lunches

After a rather slow start in early March this year, the Lent Lunches gained momentum and ended on 12th April with a good turnout of regulars for this modest but sociable occasion. During the six weeks our band of soup makers had made roughly 15 gallons of the delicious, nutritious fare whilst the partakers had donated over £710. As usual the proceeds will be divided between our own parish church of St Mary Magdalene and Christian Aid who do much to help people in other parts of the world less fortunate than we who live in South Shropshire.
Many thanks to everyone who supported in any way – those who attended, those who made the soup, those who set up and waited at table and a special thank you to Jackie and David who allowed their home to be invaded when the Beekeepers had beaten us to booking the Village Hall on 29th March.
See you all again next year !? L M T
