Now for something completely different…….! What fun we had at our May meeting trying our hands at Decopatch, the modern equivalent of the Victorian art of Decoupage. Pebbles were transformed into beautiful paperweights, boxes were made into works of art and even lampshades were given a new lease of life using the special Decopatch papers and adhesive. All agreed it was such a fun afternoon.An interest in knowing more about Tapestry work and Needlepoint was explored with one member who will be learning the basic stitches and making a sample over the coming sessions. Pennants for Ludlow in Bloom were shared and work on these will continue over the next couple of weeks.
The next meeting is on Monday 16th June when, as well as looking at how to make a simple tote bag, there will be the opportunity to try your hand at simple fabric printing and painting which you could use to decorate the bag, making it unique to you. Please bring an apron or protective garment to wear if you would like to have a go at printing. A small sewing kit would be useful. All other materials will be provided.
Everyone is welcome and we are such a friendly group. The workshop is always optional. You can have a go, if you want, or you can bring your own knitting or stitching and do your own thing. Anything goes, especially with a nice cup of tea and a bit of chatter.
