The February meeting was a lovely afternoon with lots of ideas for Easter projects being shared. Daffodils were brightening up the Easter crafts display board. These were made from fabric, yarn and felt and were either knitted or stitched. Together with the bright yellow and green bunting they gave a nice Spring feeling to the afternoon. The workshop session covered the knitting of chocolate egg covers with an assortment of chicks, ducks and bunnies being made.
The next meeting of the group is on Monday 14th April 2-4pm at Ashford Carbonel village hall. Please note that, due to Easter, this is the 2nd Monday of the month and not the 3rd as is usual.
No doubt there will be the finishing off of chocolate egg covers. The workshop will introduce some new and simple ideas for fabric flowers. which I’m sure will be a fun event. The main materials will be supplied but do bring along any resources you have which you would like to use.
There will also be the opportunity to find out about Decopage or Decopatch as it is commonly referred to, as one of our members will be having a little play with this technique which involves lots of glue and bits of paper!
The workshop is always available at each meeting as an option. Members are very welcome to join in or to bring their own work and there is a helping hand available if needed. A number of resources are at hand and a sewing machine is available for use at every session. If you’ve been bitten by the Great British Sewing Bee bug, or just fancy having a go then do come and join us.
Everyone is welcome. You don’t even have to be able to sew or knit as help is at hand to teach you should you wish to have a go.
