Knit & Stitch April 2017

We met a week earlier than usual this month due to the Easter holiday period. However, as schools do not appear to co-ordinate their holiday dates we still managed to clash with grand-parenting duties in some cases!
An assortment of projects were in hand at this session. A new ‘cosy cover’ was being knitted for a mobile phone; some lovely designs were being paper cut to use to embellish greeting cards; the sewing machine was in use for making a fabric book cover.
The workshop on Macrame had everyone tied up in knots! However it was beginning to come together by the end of the session. Determined not to be beaten, most managed to stick to the task and master the two main knots. Not easy when you’re all fingers and thumbs! Some members were quite keen to have another go at making the little owl key ring so will tackle that next time. The more adventurous who have mastered the knots may bring along a jam jar and twine to make a hanging holder for it. Either way there will another opportunity to get knotted!
Of course as usual, people will bring along their own project to work on. It’s always nice to see ‘what’s on the go’.
Next meeting: Monday 15 May (3rd Mon) 2 – 4pm at Ashford Carbonel village hall.
Optional work shop on Macrame
Everyone welcome.
